Ocean Launch
Story:
On day 3 of my Melbourne Wildlife Photography Workshop, we went out into the waters of Wilsons Promontory in search of humpback whales. Towards the end of our trip, the boat crew spotted some splashing in the distance so we raced out to investigate… Upon arrival, we found a mother and calf calmly cruising through the water, and after a few minutes they decided it was time to play. The mother and calf both breached multiple times in front of our boat, enjoying the spring sunshine and showing us their power. They are such magnificent creatures, I hope this image can do them justice.
Location:
Wilsons Promontory, Victoria.
⏤ Captured on Boonwurrung Country.
